As mentioned in my last post, I love new year’s resolutions – and I’m especially excited about the opportunities this new decade will bring.
I was initially going to explain each goal below, but I decided I’d just let them speak for themselves. While making these resolutions, I ensured they were SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, rewarding, and timed) so that I could accurately assess whether I was on track. There will definitely be more blog posts in the future that involve these goals – spoiler alert: my first resolution is to blog weekly! But elaborating on each goal felt too self-indulgent in some places, self-explanatory in others, and just a little too deep for a personal post about new year’s resolutions.
So, without further ado, here are my 20 goals for 2020.
– Blog Weekly
– Join More Clubs and Participate Regularly
– Volunteer for at Least 3 Causes
– Start Thinking about Fashion Sustainably & Building a Capsule Wardrobe
– Go Away Somewhere New on a Holiday
– Read at least 20 Books for Fun
– Engage Academically In and Outside of Class
– Journal Every Day or at Least Weekly
– Manage my Time Effectively and Stop Procrastinating
– Protest and Be a Better Activist-in-Progress
– Lose Weight in a Healthy Way with Positive Intentions
– Keep a Wishlist
– Make More Friends
– Study for Exams
– Dance and Practice Yoga Weekly
– Reduce Single-Use Plastic and Other Waste
– Save Money
– Maintain and Develop French
– Feel Confident in How I Present Myself
– Follow and Maintain Morning and Evening Routines
I’ll be checking in with myself regularly to see how my ambitions are faring ; stay tuned to see how this year unravels!

Artist Asja Boroš makes the most incredible, ethereal pieces – I’m totally enthralled by their magical, matte aesthetic. They created the work that I’m using as my header image – check out their website and Instagram for more!
